Our Christian Beliefs and Mission Statement

cswiThe Mission Statement of the Christians Standing with Israel organization:

Christians Standing with Israel is a Christ-centered organization predicated upon the biblical mandate of Genesis 12:1-3. Our mission is three-fold: solidarity, education, and awareness.

1.) Christians Standing with Israel stands in alliance with the Jewish people with a Christ-like love
through prayer, giving, and acts of service. Our solidarity with Israel is unshakable and unflinching. It is not conditional upon their belief in Christ, although we certainly pray they will come to have a relationship with Him.

2.) Christians Standing with Israel seeks to educate the nations regarding the biblical significance of Israel and our responsibility towards Israel and the Jewish people. Furthermore, our organization represents one voice, as a "watchman on the wall", that shall never be silent. CSWI seeks to counter the anti-Israel (and anti-Christian) lies and propaganda that currently thrive in media, as well as in the marketplace of ideas -- our universities and seminaries.

3.) Christians Standing with Israel aims to provide the Jewish people with an awareness of and familiarization with the Christian mindset and the reasons why our solidarity with Israel is unflinching, unshakable, and unconditional.

The Belief Statement of the Christians Standing with Israel organization:

1.) The Holy Scriptures. Christians Standing with Israel believes the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16) We believe God's word is sufficient as is, and as such, should not be subject to man-made modifications and/or limitations. We believe the Holy Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, is a God-breathed manifestation of the Lord's Will in each of our lives. It is the standard by which we as Christians are to live our lives, and the ultimate Authority on which we are to weigh our decisions; in a sense, the divine rubric.

2.) The Holy Trinity. Christians Standing with Israel believes there is only one God, and His manifestation is Triune: the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is commonly known as the Holy Trinity.  The Trinity is comprised of:

3.) God. Christians Standing with Israel believes God is the omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent Father. We believe He is the divine Author of Scripture as spoken through the prophets.  God is at the head of the Holy Trinity.

4.) Jesus (in Hebrew, Yeshu). Christians Standing with Israel believes God also manifested Himself in the likeness of man, and came to us as the Son -- Jesus Christ. Jesus sits at the right hand of God, and is the second element of the Holy Trinity.  We hold dearly the foundation Scriptural verse found in John 3:16:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Christians Standing with Israel believes God saw man as completely imperfect and incapable of living up to His standard of perfection and thus unable to keep His Law perfectly. As such, we believe God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to teach us the Brit Hadasshah (Hebrew for New Covenant). We believe Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to His own (the Jewish people), but they rejected Him as Messiah, as stated in John 1:10-11:

"He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not."

We believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins, was buried in a tomb, and conquered death (and thus, sin) through His Resurrection three days later. We believe the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the divine and sufficient atonement for our sins, and only through our acceptance of this free gift of salvation are we truly saved. We believe a relationship and belief in Jesus Christ is the only path to salvation, as stated by Christ in John 14:6:

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

We believe Jesus is Lord.

5.) The Holy Spirit. Christians Standing with Israel believes God also appears as the Holy Spirit, whose existence serves to guide us, empower us, correct us, and instruct us to align ourselves with the divine will of Christ in our lives. The Holy Spirit is the third and final element of the Holy Trinity.  We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine helper -- the comforter promised to us by Jesus Himself in John 14:16-17:

"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you."

We believe on one baptism -- the baptism by the Holy Spirit once we are saved.

6.) Salvation. Christians Standing with Israel believes that we are saved by grace through faith alone. His grace is not something we can earn, for there is not one person who can claim worthiness of it. We are deemed worthy and justified only through our belief in Jesus Christ and our faith that His shed blood is the ultimate atonement for our sins. This is stated clearly in the Word of God:

"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

7.) Prophecy. The Christians Standing with Israel organization aligns itself with what's known in eschatology as the "Pre-Trib, Pre-Mill" viewpoint. We believe this world is soon approaching "the time of Jacob's trouble" -- also known as the Tribulation. This is a literal seven-year period during which God will pour out His Wrath upon the earth. It is also a period in which Israel will draw nearer to Him and come to faith in Messiah. We believe the existing Body of Christ will not endure the Tribulation, and will be Raptured to meet the Lord in the air beforehand (hence the label, "Pre-Trib). However, we also believe many will come to faith during the tribulation period. We believe the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will occur at the conclusion of the Tribulation, and will set up His earthly kingdom in Jerusalem, otherwise known as the millennial kingdom, for a period of one thousand years.

8.) The Church and Israel. The Christians Standing with Israel organization believes the Body of Christ (the Church) and Israel are two, separate collections of people. Yes, believers in Christ, whether Jew or Greek, are the Body of the Christ. However, the promises given to Israel are still in play. The Bible clearly states that a "blindness" to Messiah will be lifted once the time of the Gentile has run its course, and so all Israel shall be saved, as stated in the book of Romans:

"For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. We believe when that time comes, 'all Israel shall be saved." Romans 11:25-26

Furthermore, we seek to counter the caustic and blatantly false suppositions of Replacement Theology.  Replacement Theology espouses that the Church has somehow supplanted Israel and replaced her as the heir to God's covenantal promises.  In their view, the Jews are guilty of deicide and as such, have forfeited their rightful claim to His promises.  As bible-believing Christians, we know this to be a complete falsehood.  God is not finished with His people, and His promises to Israel are still very much alive.  Spearheads of Replacement Theology, such as Stephen Sizer of the Anglican Christ Church, have been running roughshod on the vulnerable minds of Christian believers for years, and the Christians Standing with Israel organization has tasked itself with countering the venom that spews forth from their pulpits.
