Map of Flourishing Jewish settlements in Israel (Palestine) under Arab rule (700-1099 A.D.)

Control of Jerusalem is surrendered to the Caliphs

Despite their various exiles and the diaspora, Jews have always maintained a presence in Israel (Palestine). Shortly after Israel (Palestine) was surrendered to Caliph Omar (Umar) in the Umariyaa Covenant, the Jews were afforded a freedom that had not enjoyed enjoyed in over 500 years under Roman rule. Rule under the Caliphs was a direct contrast to the oppressive, brutal regimes from Rome. Jews in Israel (Palestine) began to flourish under Caliph rule and it would remain this way until the next brutal conquerors would make they way into Israel (Palestine) in 1099: the Crusaders.
